A single engine plane crashed near Telluride Airport late Sunday morning. A Beechcraft Bonanza A36 turboprop, piloted by a 51 year-old Mt. Crested Butte man, had taken off to the west. Shortly after becoming airborne the plane veered to the southwest and could not gain altitude.  The plane hit the ground about 200 yards south of the runway and skidded another 100 yards, crashing into the airport perimeter fence and some oakbrush, which caused it to stop within 30 feet of a cliff. The aircraft was extensively damaged, but there was no fire and the pilot, the only occupant, was uninjured
