One person was killed and three others injured in a large avalanche in East Vail Tuesday. The Colorado Avalanche Information Center says the avalanche was triggered near the treeline, around 11:30 a.m. Denver television is reporting, The three hurt in the slide suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office. The deceased victim has been identified as a man. The four were on the East Vail Chutes, a popular backcountry area. It’s not clear if the four were skiing or snowboarding.
