Montrose: South 12th & Park Closure
Posted by <> on 3/25/2015 10:47:00 AM.
The City of Montrose Utility Department will be closing the intersection of South 12th Street and Park Avenue beginning Monday, March 30, and lasting through Friday, April 3. The closure will allow the City’s utility crews to replace an aged waterline within the intersection during Columbine Middle School’s spring break.
Detours around the project area will be signed and available on Cascade Avenue, South 9th Street, and Mesa Avenue. Access for local residents and emergency personnel will be available throughout the duration of the project, although some on-street parking may be unavailable at times.
This waterline replacement is the first phase of a larger project, expected to start this summer, that will completely rebuild the South 12th Street and Park Avenue intersection. The rebuild project will modify the intersection’s geometry to improve pedestrian safety and traffic flow.
For your safety and that of our workers, the City asks that motorists and pedestrians please exercise caution near the work area and respect all coned-off areas. Questions regarding the project may be directed to City Engineer Scott Murphy at (970) 901-1792.
