Stabbing In Delta

On May 26th at approximately 1:31 A.M. officers of the Delta Police Department responded to Bradley’s Convenience Store at 101 Main Street in the City of Delta, Colorado on a report of a stabbing. Investigation revealed an 18 year old Caucasian male of Delta sustained serious injuries from an alleged stabbing which occurred in the alley near the car wash at 2nd and Main Streets.

Summer Meals Program

If you live in Delta County, You are urged to attend a meeting to discuss changes in the Delta County Onsite Wastewater Treatment System Regulations. Colorado Water Quality Control Regulation #43 has brought about changes in how septic systems are designed and permitted.

No Jail Time For Former Hug-A Bear Employee

The Daily Press is reporting Diedre Womack will not receive jail time after giving preschool aged children Melatonin last October. The Press reports Womack pleaded no contest to a second class misdemeanor of non-injury child abuse.

Six Injured in GJ Bus Crash

This morning (Wed) in Grand Junction, six people were injured in a transit bus rollover crash. At around 6 AM, Police say, an SUV was South bound on 28 1/4 Road at Orchard when it ran a red light and t-boned a GVT bus with eight aboard causing the bus to flip on its side. Six people are being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Two Injured in Four Car Accident

Two people were injured in a four car chain reaction accident this afternoon in Montrose on south Townsend near east oak grove road. Sergeant Suppes says a southbound motorist driving a truck pressed the clutch instead of the brake causing the truck to rear-end a Hyundai which struck a Rav4 which rammed a Dodge SUV.

US 550 Closed at Red Mountain Pass on Wednesday

The Colorado Department of Transportation will close US 550 Red Mtn. Pass tomorrow starting at 10 a.m. to enable a vehicle recovery at mile point 88.6, just south of the snow shed. The closure points will be at MP 89 on the north side (motorists will be able to access Engineer Pass Road from the north) and approximately MP 87 to the south at Ironton Park.
