Mumps Surge Not Known
Posted by <> on 4/6/2017 10:37:00 AM.
Cases of mumps are on the rise in Colorado. While one-thousand cases nationwide may seem relatively small, it's actually a big number for mumps. Before 2016, Colorado ordinarily only reported 17 cases or so. This year, there have already been 61-cases.

Health experts say it's not perfectly clear what causes the outbreaks, but they cite low rates of vaccination as the cause of the rise in mumps cases.
