Montrose Man Killed Thursday Morning

KKCO is reporting A 34 year old Montrose man was killed in a crash on Highway 50 in Whitewater yesterday morning. The crash occurred just after 3:00 AM on westbound Highway 50. State Patrol says the man was a passenger in a car driven by a 26-year-old Delta woman. The woman drove off the the left side of the road into the median. That's when her car rolled twice.

Dog Ban Possible for Grand Mesa

The U.S. Forest Service, Grand Valley Ranger District has received complaints and requests for additional restrictions and/or closures related to dogs at parking areas and on trails on the Grand Mesa National Forests. The District is seeking public input and comment regarding the possible need to close one or more Nordic ski trail system(s) to dogs and/or the need to implement other restrictions to decrease conflicts between winter recreationists and dogs. Currently, dogs are allowed on all trails throughout the Grand Mesa National Forest.

The Montrose Chamber is embarking on a listening tour at the Proximity Space on east Main in Montrose, The chamber wants to know what you want out of your Chamber Membership in this changing business environment. There's a tour stop February 14th at 8:00 AM with free bagels and coffee and another February 22nd 8:00 AM.

Delta Man Punched Officer in Mouth

A Delta man was tazed and jailed after he punched a police officer in the mouth. The incident occurred in the Delta City Market parking lot at around 4 PM on on February 2nd. According to the arrest affidavit, 35 year old Tyler Saenz was harassing City Market shoppers. When the store manager told Saenz to leave he became more indignant.

Per Gunnison Police: Due to the warm weather and snow melt the City of Gunnison has experienced a large amount of slush on its roadways. Starting at 11:00 AM today the City of Gunnison will be removing slush from the City Streets.

One Killed and Three Injured in Delta Crash

A two vehicle accident left one person dead and three injured Monday night. The crash occurred at around 7:30 on Highway 50 in north Delta. Delta Police suspect it was a head on collision however the exact cause is still being determined as police are seeking eye witnesses.

Free Bus Service

The Montrose public bus routes will change February 13th. All Points Transit is offering free rides through the end of February to promote the new routes and to help passengers adjust. All Points Transit says New construction, of the Community Recreation Center and the planned River Valley Family Health Center on Apollo Road, played a role in the new routes. In addition: A there's a Facebook-Instagram photo contest.
