Road & Bridge Structure to be Scrapped

Montrose County Commissioners voted to scrap the metal building at their road and bridge property on LaSalle near  north Townsend avenue. Officials say the building isn't suitable for a road and bridge department. The property previously belonged to United Companies. Construction has already begun on a new road and bridge building at the property.

Grand Junction Man Killed in Crash

A biker from Grand Junction is dead following a crash on Saturday afternoon in Utah. Grand County authorities say 56 year old Albert Hughes died from unknown causes at the accident scene on State Route 128.

More Rallies This Weekend

Some Coloradans will rally in support of President Donald Trump this weekend. The Denver "March4Trump" rally will be held on the west steps of the State Capitol Building tomorrow morning at 10. Congressman Ken Buck and former Congressman Tom Tancredo are expected to speak. In Grand Junction a toast to Trump rally is scheduled for Saturday at Lincoln Park. That rally begins at noon and it's sponsored by Mesa County deplorables.

New BLM Manager

The Bureau of Land Management has chosen Dana Wilson as New Southwest Associate District Manager. The Montrose based position includes about 2.6 million acres of BLM lands within the Grand Junction, Uncompahgre and Tres Rios Field Offices. Wilson previously was the lead public affairs officer with the BLM California State Office and a legislative and public affairs specialist for the BLM in Washington, DC.

The number of mumps cases in Colorado is nearing a record high. Colorado averages under six-cases every year. So far this year there has been 49-cases of the disease in the state.

Tipton Praises WOTUS Executive Order

The Congressional Western Caucus that includes 3rd district congressman Scott Tipton are praising a new executive order. President Trump signed the Order requiring EPA and the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works to review the Obama Administration’s Waters of the United States Rule and rescind any aspect of WOTUS inconsistent with federal law.
