Columbine Groundbreaking

Opera House Needs a Roof Next Month

The Sheridan Opera House in Telluride needs $25,000 to help pay for a new roof by June 10th. The venue is owned by the non profit Sheridan Arts Foundation. They've already received 25,000 from donations and from the Telluride gives project. Katherine Warren is the marketing director, she says with the coming monsoon season in July, August and September, now is the time to upgrade the roof.
 
Donations can be made at SheridanOperaHouse.com. The opera house is 104 years old.

All Points Transit Offer to Students

All Points Transit wants to encourage students and youth to ride the public bus this summer. Students regularly pay $32.50 for a 3-month Montrose pass however, this summer a 3-month passes will cost $20 for children age 5-17 or to anyone with a student ID.

Ute Grand Opening June 10

The Ute Indian Museum grand opening is June 10th. After three plus years of planning, construction and design the Ute Museum will be open to the public on Saturday, June 10. The celebration includes free admission and shuttle service will be available from 9 to 4 at the Target parking lot. The event will include presentations from the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe, Southern Ute Tribe and the Ute Indian Tribe—Uintah and Ouray Reservation.Ute Indian Museum is on Chipeta Road.

Drug Bust in Delta

On May 18, 2017 officers of the Delta Police Department, with the assistance of deputies from the Delta County Sheriff’s Office and Montrose County Sheriff’s Office, conducted a search warrant at 960 Crawford Avenue in the City of Delta. The purpose of the warrant related to drugs, drug use and possession; drug manufacturing and distribution, firearms, cell phones and any other items which may be illegal, stolen or otherwise implicating in criminal activity. Four people were arrested as a result of the search warrant. Additional charges may be pending.

Deer with wasting disease found near Nucla

A mature buck deer that was found dead near Nucla in March has tested positive for chronic wasting disease, Colorado Parks and Wildlife has reported.
