Mirror: City Won't Meet With County

The Montrose Mirror is reporting the Montrose City Council refuses to meet formally with Montrose County commissioners until the new commissioners are sworn in next year. In a column by Gail Marvel, Commissioner Glen Davis is quoted as saying “We can’t get the city manager, or the city council to the table.”

The League of Women Voters of Montrose County will moderate the Montrose City Council Candidate Forum March 3rd at 7:00 at the Montrose City Council Chambers on south Cascade. There will be introductions, opening statements and a question and answer session. All candidates have been invited, they are district 3 candidate Roy Anderson, district 4 candidate Judy Ann Files (incumbent) and for the at-large seat, Dave Bowman and Marge Morgenstern.

Montrose County Sheriff's Office Gets Served By City

At approximately 9:30 a.m., on the morning of December 4th, the Assistant City Attorney for the City of Montrose (Andrew Boyko) hand delivered a motion for temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction to the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office. This document compelled the Sheriff to appear in court at 1:30 p.m., the same day. The City of Montrose had provided no prior notice of this action or their intent to take legal action against Montrose County.
