|The Mesa County Coroner’s Office wants your help identifying the skeletal remains found last December 20 near 27 ¼ Road and B ½ Road in Orchard Mesa. KREX is reporting there are no signs of foul play and the remains belong to an adult male, age 25 to 40 and believed to be of white and Hispanic ethnicity. |

At Monday’s regularly scheduled Board meeting, the Montrose County Board of County Commissioners voted to eliminate development impact fees. The Board rescinded all previous resolutions adopting the fees. The elimination of the fee is effective immediately. This change will lower the cost of a building permit for a single family home by $2,779.80.

|Road & Bridge Structure to be Scrapped|

Montrose County Commissioners voted to scrap the metal building at their road and bridge property on LaSalle near north Townsend avenue. Officials say the building isn't suitable for a road and bridge department. The property previously belonged to United Companies. Construction has already begun on a new road and bridge building at the property.

A man was cited after he allegedly shot his firearm from the vehicle he was riding in. According to the Montrose County Police Blotter, Deputies were called to Elephant Skin Road last Friday afternoon just after 1:00. 40 year old Ramon Perez-Cisneros was charged with having a loaded gun in a vehicle and shooting from a public road. |Garfield County authorities are investigating a gruesome discovery found on the banks of the Colorado River. Investigators say a body was discovered near a bloody knife along the river in an area west of New Castle. Authorities say the body might be linked to a botched auto theft that happened a few days before Christmas. |

|Remains Found in Fremont County|

The Fremont County Sheriff's Office confirms that human remains were found in the western part of the county last week. A hiker came across the remains last Wednesday and a spokesperson for the Sheriff's Office says they belong to a white male between 25 and 50-years-old.

|One Person Killed in Motorcycle Accident|

One person is dead and another suffered multiple traumatic injuries following a single motorcycle accident on Hwy 145 near Telluride Sunday afternoon.
Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 145 near “Windy Point” (mile marker 66) at 3:05pm Sunday for a single motorcycle crash involving two individuals. Upon arrival, the driver, a male in his 60’s was found lying on the roadway, bleeding and partially conscious, but breathing. A female passenger was ejected over a guardrail and found about 30 yards down a steep embankment with bystanders, including a nurse, performing CPR.

|The Montrose Mirror is reporting the Montrose City Council refuses to meet formally with Montrose County commissioners until the new commissioners are sworn in next year. In a column by Gail Marvel, Commissioner Glen Davis is quoted as saying “We can’t get the city manager, or the city council to the table.” |

|Warrant Served in Saguache County Case|

|Investigators may have cracked a cold case, involving the disappearance and death of a well-known member of the Colorado Springs mountain biking community. Mike Rust disappeared in 2009, and his remains were just found in January near his Saguache County home. CBI served an arrest warrant in the case for Charles Moises Gonzales yesterday on counts including first-degree murder. He's already serving time at the state prison in Canon City on other charges. |
