Three Minors Cited for Pot Use

Three children were cited for smoking pot in public in Delta last week. According to the Delta Colorado Police blotter, a 14 year old boy from Eckert, a 13 year old girl from Eckert and a 13 year old girl from Delta were ticketed for Open Use of Marijuana in Public.

Two Million Dollar Pot Study

Seven research groups will be getting grants to study the impact of marijuana use in Colorado. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has awarded more than two-million dollars in grant funding for the studies. Researchers will study driving impairment, the duration of marijuana in breast milk and what marijuana products are more commonly tied to emergency room visits.

Sheriff Masters Issues Notice to Pot Growers.

The San Miguel County Sheriff’s Office is issuing a notice to all pot Growers and Cultivators that the Colorado State Senate passed SB16 and the Governor approved the bill that Changes the wording of Offenses Relating to Marijuana and Marijuana Concentrate. The intent of this new law is intended to keep unauthorized people from entering a pot grow. Entire notice is included.

McKee Among Sheriff's Filing Pot Suit

The outside fight against Colorado's legalization of recreational marijuana is not letting up. Sheriffs from ten counties across three states including Delta County Sheriff Fred McKee filed suit yesterday against Colorado's law that allows the possession and growing of pot for recreational uses.

Supremes May Rule on Colorado Pot Law

Nebraska and Oklahoma are hoping the U.S. Supreme Court will decide Colorado must stop allowing recreational marijuana. The attorney generals of Nebraska and Oklahoma in December filed a lawsuit to try to stop recreational pot in Colorado, saying marijuana's been moving from Colorado into their states since it was legalized.

The Colorado Department of Health is launching a new pot education campaign. It was kicked off yesterday. The "Good to Know" campaign will educate people on the laws, as well as dangers of driving while high and potential overuse.

Halloween Pot Warning

Colorado Officials are warning parents their children might get something other than the usual fun size candy bars when they trick-or-treat.  Denver Police made a public service announcement with a marijuana retailer, telling parents kids might get candy that contains pot.
