Someone is going around San Juan County Utah putting up fake entrance signs for the Bears Ears National Monument. The signs say the entrance fee for the monument is 100-dollars and must be paid at the Navajo Tribal Park.

Grand Junction Man Killed in Crash

A biker from Grand Junction is dead following a crash on Saturday afternoon in Utah. Grand County authorities say 56 year old Albert Hughes died from unknown causes at the accident scene on State Route 128.

Three Killed in Green River

Three people from Washington State are dead from rollover crash in Green River. Utah Highway Patrol says a truck carrying the victims veered off I-70 last night and flipped over as it over corrected. They say it rolled over several times.

Bear Ears Declaration Rumor

Governor Herbert says he has talked directly with President Obama about the creation of a national monument in San Juan County. Herbert said yesterday during his monthly news conference that the President said he has not made a decision on using his executive power to create a monument in the Bears Ears area of southeast Utah. Herbert appeared with Congressmen Jason Chaffetz and Rob Bishop at the news conference.

Utah Decides to Sue for Land Control

Utah legislators are planning to sue for more control over public land. The state Commission for the Stewardship of Public Lands approved two resolutions. The first resolution announced their opposition to creating a new national monument in southeastern Utah through an executive order by President Obama. The second authorized a lawsuit that would seek to limit federal power over Utah's public lands.

SEAL Honored in San Juan County Utah

A Navy SEAL who died in Afghanistan is being honored with a memorial bridge in San Juan County. Jason Workman lived in Blanding, and his mother Betty says his love of southern Utah meant he always returned home. State officials recently renamed a bridge over the San Juan River in Mexican Hat the Special Operator Chief Jason Workman Navy SEAL Memorial Bridge.

Utah Decides to Sue

Utah is joining an effort to monitor water quality in the San Juan and Animas rivers following the toxic Gold King Mine disaster last summer. Agency officials are concerned most of the 880-thousand pounds of metals released into the Animas remain upstream and could be brought down by spring snowmelt. Utah and New Mexico say they plan to sue the EPA for reimbursement for damages caused by the spill in southwest Colorado.

Southeast Utah Murder

A man is facing federal charges for allegedly killing a woman on the Navajo Nation in southeastern Utah. A federal grand jury returned an indictment yesterday against 45-year-old Timothy Lee Smith for first-degree murder within an Indian country. He's also been charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm. Smith is accused of killing 63-year-old Maranny Marena Hatalie Holiday on November 30th and hiding her body under a tree.

Celebrity Sibling Possibly Located

Reality star Kristin Cavallari is mourning the loss of her brother after Utah authorities announced that they believe they've found his body. The Grand County Sheriff's office says search crews found what they believe to be the 30-year-old's remains yesterday morning. The body was taken to the medical examiner so it could be identified and to determine how he died.

Vernal Child Missing

The family of a missing ten-year-old hiker is asking for prayers and good thoughts as the search continues near Vernal. In a post on Facebook late Sunday, the family of Malachi Bradley said they are grateful for the search efforts of the Uintah and Wasatch County Sheriff's offices as well at the Ute Indian Tribe.
