Social Media reports say a man stole a car with a child strapped inside on Tuesday in Montrose. The incident occurred on the 1400 Block of Haystack Road.

Cooking Show Coming to Telluride

One of television's top cooking competition shows is coming to the western slope. The producers of "Top Chef"announced yesterday they would be filming their 15th season in Denver, Telluride and Boulder. The show will film this spring and air later in the year.

Topless Sunbather

A woman decided to sunbathe topless on Last Dollar Road near Telluride Airport. The San Miguel County Sheriff's office received several complaints about the nudist last Sunday afternoon (March 19th). According to the Sheriff's office blotter, deputies told the woman that her nudity was offensive to the general public and told to sunbathe somewhere else.

It's a campaign to see which Mayor can best inspire their residents to make internet pledges to reduce water and energy usage. Mayor Rex Swanson is exhorting you to pledge at Cities with the highest percentage of participation become eligible to win prizes.

DDA Survives For Now

Montrose city councilors tabled an ordinance to end the Downtown Development Authority. The DDA was brought into existence thru a vote of the property owners six years ago.

Shake Up at County

Former Montrose County Commissioner David White told KUBC that assistant county manager Dave Laursen may be the next casualty of the new commissioner administration. Last week Commissioners Roger Rash and Keith Caddy terminated the contract of county Attorney Teresa Williams. The commissioners did not cite a reason for the termination.
