The fire that killed two Western State College students January 30th has been ruled accidental. Gunnison Fire Marshal Dennis Spritzer tells the Gunnison Country Times that “There was no indication in any way that it was intentional.” The fire appears to have started on a couch that was on the front porch. Shell announced yesterday that they will withdraw their application for conditional water rights on the Yampa River, a move that has relieved some environmental groups. According to the Daily Sentinel, Shell says this doesn’t mean they’re pulling out of the oil shale project for good, but that the decision was based on the global recession. [...]
