The coroner says that a Colorado State University student died from meningococcal sepsis and not from bacterial meningitis. Highway 50 reopened last night around 11:00 after shutting down due to an avalanche.  Colorado State Patrol says Highway 50 was closed headed towards Gunnison near milemarker 123, which is about 28 miles east of Montrose.  No vehicles were caught in the avalanche.
